FREQUENTLEY ASKED QUESTIONS
Will you separate the truck from the camper?
Our preference is to sell the rig (truck with flatbed and camper) as a complete platform for overland adventure because they are just so happy together and neither could imagine life without the other! Besides, they seem to exhibit a bit of panache and joie de vivre when they are together! However, if the right offer came along, we would seriously consider it.
Why have you decided to sell your rig?
We love this rig and are having a difficult time imagining camping without it. But, life changes and so do the decisions that bring us to where we are. If you want to know if there are problems, deficiencies or incompetencies that brought us to this decision to sell; Then the answer is a resounding NO!
How much time would it take to do this build myself?
That is a difficult question to answer and really depends on your skill lever at sourcing parts and managing the entire process. It is not difficult but it does take time…a lot of it! I can tell you that it consumed every free moment I could muster for about 6 months!
Will you teach me how to use it?
Absolutely! We want you to enjoy this rig at least as much as we have. We are happy to provide you with tips, hacks etc that will get you on your way to your next Overland Adventure.
What would it cost to build this rig today?
This is a difficult question to answer as so many of the decisions that went into assembling this rig are personal. There are a lot of choices and that contributes to the amount of time and cost of duplicating this project from scratch. It would cost in excess of $135,000 for me to completely duplicate this build today.
Would you change things if you did this project again?
Absolutely Not. We owned a traditional FWC slide-in Hawk before starting out on this project. We camped for years in many different locations and that process led us to the decisions we made with the current rig. This rig has taken us to the places we wanted to go safely and comfortably. We like to go remote and solo and have felt comfortable doing so.
Please note that this website is intended to offer for sale the truck, camper, flatbed and accessories attached permanently to the rig. Some photos may show personal items which are not included in the sale. These include but are not limited to MaxTrax Recovery Boards, Front Runner Storage Boxes, Hi-Lift Jack, Stratchits, storage bins and containers, clothing, dishes, pans, cooking utensils, general camping gear etc. If you wonder if an item is included please ask.
